Chemical Peels

Chemical skin peeling has been performed for may years to treat a variety of skin disorders. Conditions such as sun damage, wrinkling, and uneven pigmentation may be treated with this non-invasive technique. Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Phenol, trichloroacetic acids (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are used for this purpose. The precise formula may be adjusted to meet each patient’s needs.

A chemical peel involves a solution applied to the face which removes dead skin cells, uncovering a “new” layer of skin that appears smoother and more vibrant. As a result, it softens fine lines, minimizes age spots, skin discoloration and improves texture and tone. Both Jessner and TCA peels are available. 1 to 4 layers.
